Ninja Blade

When it comes to ninjas I can certainly say that I’m an expert, not an educated, but a TV expert and in this and several other ones cases a PC games expert. We heard about them almost everywhere, even though they originate from Japan, when I recall Michael Dudikoff in the American Ninja it gives me the creeps and not the good ones. Ok so he knew how to fight well but we are talking about ninjas who could kill you without moving, literally! Many reviewers have compared this game to scenes from Devil May Cry or God of War, but even though I agree with them especially with the DMC (one of my favorites) this game has more similar appearance to Onimusha if you ever heard of it. The game will be like almost any other game in this genre, some bugs, a bit of inconsistencies but the heck with it all…the game has got class and by that I mean classy special effects. The game will offer mostly that, effects that is the part of the game which stands out the most. Ken Ogawa is the hero of our game and putting it simple he is a modern day ninja that still follows the old ways and masters some of the nature’s elements. During the course of the game, he'll sky-surf on missiles, perform gravity-defying stunts on a motorcycle, and ride a wrecking ball to glory, among many other gymnastic features. Except all of these acrobatic skills and some very special moves, you will find some Quick button press, or whatever they are. The point is that you need to press a certain button in an exact moment; however you won’t be doing that just out of nowhere. When these scenes come there will be a camera close-up to Ken’s eyes, preparing you for these scenes. These scenes will be used quite often and depending on how much you like or enjoy in these scenes you will accept them. They are definitely beautiful there is no doubt about it, it is just everything has its limits and the manufactures where testing that limit with this game with how much ‘nice’ scenes can you watch. The basic or the main weapons that you can use, besides the pre-set katana, is a double sword that enables you doing some very fast combos, and a very heavy sword that inflicts some nice damage with the enemies. Ken will use these weapons to clear up Tokyo from the havoc and the menace of the mutants all around the town. Ninja Blade is a fairly straightforward button masher, so you can string your two main attacks, blocks, and jumps into various combos that you unlock as the game progresses. The game will provide a real challenge if you select the highest level of difficulty to play at. Using the combination of the weapons is sometimes very necessary as you will need to use at least two weapons on a single target, especially the bosses, while logically every weapon will help you in different situations according to their skills. The game through the gameplay will provide some very unreal scenes which you would think are just too much; however this won’t be the case. The game is not based on some hardcore action fighting, then more like I previously said the effects in the game that will become too much fictional you’ll love it. The point of the game is clearly to have fun while playing it and to make your breath stop from every move made by Ken. Another option that you can like about this game is the ninja vision. Think of it as a result of hard training and usage of your inner strength, but what it actually does is it slows down time and increases the attack value of your weapons during that period and reveals certain spots in the game that a normal eye couldn’t see. Now back to the nature elements; you can use three different types of elements with your player; fire-wind-electricity. These weapons that you use are upgradable and with the upgrade you have more moves on your disposal, and combinations available are very attractive. However this all has a price and that is the hardware that you need to have to make these hack and slash moves so attractive. Playing this game on an 800x640 resolution is not quite compelling as you are losing the best part of the game. You will be able to switch the customs of your player in different variations like a bad version giving it a nice touch or a costume that will make your laugh all the time. The game is good or better yet very good and it will provide some serious action for many players it just depends whether you like it?! It is a clean fun game where you are destroying demons in some stylish moves or the type of DMC or God of War or Onismush-a. Think about it…
